While I think video is clever and hits some of the extremes that folks need to be aware of and knowledgeable about- I really worry that this type of belittling turns folks off.

Reminds me of when I first started learning how to work on bicyles- everyone around me seemed to know so much more than me that I was intimidated, and not sure who to turn for some starters so that I could help myself. I was afraid to ask anyone. It wasn't until I finally got a flat that I was FORCED to ask someone for help! I remember confiding in close friends about who to approach- who could I talk to that was knowledgeable but wouldn't be a bike snob?!

Eventually, an aquaintance Matt had the patience to sit down and show me how to get my rear wheel off my bike without destroying my derailer, how to get the intertube out of the tire, how to patch it and how to put it all back together again. I needed some hand holding. I needed someone who was willing to answer my basic questions. I needed someone who I felt like I could return to for more knowledge, even if they felt like their good deed was done.

Can we afford to be climate change snobs, even if the urgency is so very apparent to those who are knowledgeable?
